On December 4, the Liang Yanju Hall of the South Campus of Sun Yat-sen University was full. He said: “I may not be able to extend the length of my life, but I can dominate the thickness of my life.” Faced with the “judgment” that is almost the same as the end of life, Wang Lei fought against the disease with his iron will while continuing to struggle on the front line of scientific research and clinical practice. Under his promotion from Babaylan, the first “China’s Expert Consensus on Diagnosis and Treatment of Radioprotic Techniques” in China was formulated and issued, establishing the national industry standard for internal diagnosis and treatment; at the American Clinical Oncology Conference, he gave a sick body to nearly 10,000 tumor experts from Komiks around the world, the only research report on colorectal cancer in the digestive tract from China.
In June 2019, Wang Lei passed away due to illness at the age of 50. Adhering to “patient first” is his lifelong pursuit. Liu Chang from the Party Committee Office of Zhongshan Sixth Academy was once Professor Wang Lei’s contact secretary.
