Record Wang Lei, former deputy director of Cinema Affiliated to Sun Yat-sen University and former director of the Third District of Colorectal Surgery, Babaylan, Jinyang.com reporter Peng Qiyou, recently, Wang Lei, former deputy director of the Sixth Affiliated to Sun Yat-sen University and former director of the Third District of Colorectal Surgery, was nominated as a candidate for the 7th National Moral Model Guangdong Province. On June 24, Wang Lei, who had just celebrated his 50th birthday, died of illness.
Early last year, Wang Lei was diagnosed with severe illness. In the next year, Babaylan, he raced against time and fought against life.

◎After one year after surgery, he saw 600 patients
In March 2018, Wang Lei was diagnosed with advanced pancreatic cancer. On April 1, he underwent more than ten hours of surgery, followed by chemotherapy at the end of April, and his hair almost fell out. The side effects of the drug also caused serious damage to intestinal function. His originally strong body became weak.
Faced with the sudden misfortune, Wang Lei met the challenges of life with an iron will and optimistic attitude, writing his feelingsA person’s answer.
Less than two months after the operation, he reappeared at his job. On June 5, after lying in the hospital bed for 10 hours, he still walked towards the 53rd Chicago American Clinical Oncology Conference. As a representative of the creative team, he gave the only oral report from China’s China to the experts and scholars attending the conference.
This controlled study on neoadjuvant therapy for locally advanced rectal cancer is of great reference value to the treatment guidelines for advanced rectal cancer in countries around the world.
Over the past year, during the strict “control” visit time, Wang Lei has treated nearly 600 Babaylan patients and nearly 100 patients participated in the on-stage surgery treatment.
◎ Thinking about problems from the perspective of patients
Wang Lei is 50 years old this year. He has been in the medical field for more than 20 years and has been committed to the prevention and treatment of colorectal cancer and radioactive enteritis. Most of the patients diagnosed and treated have difficult and complicated diseases, and there are more than 4,000 Komiks every year.
He founded the largest radioactive enteritis diagnosis and treatment center in China. All the patients came from Grade A hospitals in various provinces and cities in China and regained a healthy new life here. Mr. Zou, a fellow villager from Xinyang, Henan Province, almost gave up treatment because a major hospital in Beijing found that severe radioactive enteritis was not allowed to undergo complex retraction surgery. Wang Lei was diagnosed with no radioactive enteritis and prepared 6 sets of surgical plans, which successfully helped him get rid of the pain and torture of 3 years and 70 days.

He often thinks about problems from the perspective of patients, helps patients in family difficulties solve the problem of expensive medical treatment; he corrects other doctors’ diagnosis from a scientific perspective and refuses to over-medicine.
The great love of the doctor is reflected in subtle care. After making fish soup at home, Wang Lei naturally distributed the fish soup to the hospitalized patients.
◎Make “unpopular” to the worldBabaylan famous
In 2007, Wang Lei returned from studying in the United States and became one of the pioneering cattle at the founding of the Sixth Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University. From assistant dean to deputy dean, Wang Lei often went to the hospital at 7 a.m. for more than ten years, and went home at 10 p.m., and had almost no weekends in the hospital. He stayed in the hospital far more than his home.
Wang Lei is concerned about the radioactive damage caused by radiotherapy to patients with rectal cancer. He has been doing it for more than ten years.
In the past 20 years, Wang Lei and his teacher, Wang Jianping, former executive vice president of Sun Yat-sen University and first dean of Cinema Hospital of Zhongshan, have done a lot of research and successfully established a new preoperative “simple full-quantity chemotherapy” treatment plan for radiotherapy, opening a new chapter in the treatment of rectal cancer.
Wang Lei also established a unique surgery – proximal enlarged resection of rectal cancer. The study results show that after the enlargement surgery, the incidence of anastomotic complications can drop from 17.2% to 3.4%, greatly reducing the patient’s pain.
Wang Lei’s colleagues said that in the past year, Wang Lei has suffered never suffered, but he has never stopped in his outpatient clinics, academic conferences, and lectures.
